welcome to unit 5: DESIGN & LEARNING
CHUNKING
Chunking is a method of dividing a large amount of information obtained to smaller parts or units so that it can be easily remembered. Chunking is thus an important aspect in designs because it aids the users in terms of their memory and understandings. Chunking should be applied in design considering there is a possibility that a user needs to manually recall a particular information received.
With chunking method being set in designs, users can learn the correct way of memorizing data. As an example, spaces are automatically formed between after several digits in a person's contact number,
e.g 016 495 6783
For example of chunking, bank card number being displayed number in card front part, if seen segmented to 4 parts and every division have 4 numbers: XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX
